At CJL, we’re more than just a property management company; we’re a working family of real estate and property professionals. We treat every home like one of our own, and that’s evident with each satisfied customer. In an effort to illustrate our comprehensive property management services, we’d like to introduce our team and explain what each member does for CJL Rentals & Property Management clients. 

 
Carleen Hart

CARLEEN J LEBLANC-HART

President, Broker/Owner

Carleen is the owner of CJL Rentals & Property Management which was established in 1992. She graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Building Construction. She has both a MA Unrestricted Construction Supervisor’s License and a MA Real Estate Broker’s License. Her credentials and experiences in rentals and property management offer easy transitions and solutions for those seeking her expertise and real estate savvy. She also has extensive capabilities to oversee any and all capital improvement and construction related projects. Carleen is very knowledgeable in all aspects of landlord/tenant relations and management with over 30 years of experience in residential management.

Carleen is known for her integrity, straight forwardness, honest, reliable and consistent approach to rentals and property management. Her “hands on” approach to operating CJL Rentals & Property Management affords her clients personal service from her and her knowledgeable team.

As owner of a woman owned firm, Carleen is certified by the State of MA as a WBE (Woman Business Enterprise) with the SDO (Supplier Diversity Office), as a DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) with the State of MA Department of Transportation with certified business description of “Property Management and Maintenance; Real Estate Rentals and Sales.”

Carleen is a lifelong resident of Waltham where she and her husband Andy reside and raised their three children. She has been busy maintaining her business and being active in the community. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her kids, family, friends and her horse, Dixie.

 

ANDREW HART

Project Manager/Maintenance Lead

Andy holds an Unrestricted Construction Supervisor License in Massachusetts. As owner of Andrew Hart Contracting, he has been providing Property Management and General Contractor Services (over seeing major capital improvement jobs) for CJL Rentals & Property Management for approximately 20 years. Prior to Andy starting his own contracting business, he owned his own hardwood flooring company for 20+ years. Andy is a family man and enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 kids; he also enjoys traveling and is an avid 70’s muscle car enthusiast! 

 
 

CAREN KIMBALL

Business Operations Manager

Caren joined CJL Rentals and Property Management in 2019. She has many years of experience as an analyst and quality control specialist in the medical software industry. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Hartford.

Having grown up with a family business in residential real estate, Caren always thought that one day she would work in the Real Estate field. The career change combines Caren’s life long interest in real estate with her previous professional experience.

As a Business Operations Manager at CJL, Caren is always looking at ways to optimize the use of our software applications to improve our efficiencies and offers our clients a smooth and pleasant experience. In addition to implementing internal process improvements, Caren works on preparing leases and signings, marketing, and property management.

Caren’s strong organizational skills helps to streamline our internal processes. She is a great communicator to all parties involved (tenants, property owners and agents) and keeps everyone informed. Caren ensures that all processes are in order and if she doesn't have an answer or knowledge, she digs deep and finds it! Caren goes the extra mile on every transaction that crosses her desk.

Caren was raised in Newton and still lives there with her husband and three kids. She enjoys volunteering and attending her kids’ many dance and sporting events.

 

CINDY PARRELLA

Staff Accountant/Rental Agent

Cindy has been a licensed MA Real Estate Broker since 2004, although she has been involved in the real estate industry for most of her personal and professional life in many facets and capacities.  She began her working relationship with CJL Rentals & Property Management in 2004 as a Rental Agent.  With the phenomenal growth and reputation of CJL, Cindy now also plays a role in the Property Management side as Staff Accountant, as well as continuing her role as a Rental Agent. Cindy is from Watertown and now resides in Waltham, where she has a vast knowledge about these communities, surrounding areas and their real estate industry.  Her down time is spent enjoying time with family and friends and traveling as much as possible.

 
Bridget McHugh

BRIDGET McHUGH

OFFICE MANAGER / PROPERTY MANAGER

Bridget joined CJL Rentals & Property Management in January of 2022 as an Executive Assistant/Property Manager. She is a graduate of Bridgewater State University in 2018 with a degree in Strategic Communications. 

Her previous work in higher education as an Area Coordinator for Residence Life and Housing brings a background in the day to day management of residence operations and administrative tasks. At CJL, Bridget is working directly with the owner, Carleen and assisting with the day to day operations. She is also handling property management tasks at CJL. 

Bridget recently moved back to Medway, MA where she lived her entire life before moving to Vermont for the past three years. In her free time she enjoys being with her family, friends, going to Cape Cod and watching or attending sporting events any chance she gets.

 

TIM SCALISI

Property Manager/Rental Agent

Tim was born and raised in Waltham, graduated from Waltham High in 2012, and is still a Waltham resident. He graduated from Oswego State University in upstate NY in 2016, where he studied Exercise Science. He was both a collegiate and high school athlete. In June 2022, Tim added onto his role becoming a Property Manager; doing both Property Management and Rental Real Estate here at CJL. He has brought his communication and organization skills to the Real Estate Industry coming from his previous work as a Technical Recruiter. He got his sales license in September 2021. Tim enjoys spending his spare time exercising, doing outdoor activities and taking care of his dog.

 

KARA TYNAN

Financial Accountant

Kara joined CJL Rentals & Property Management in 2021 as a Financial Accountant.  She has over 20 years of experience in finance and is the owner of an accounting consulting firm in New Hampshire.  Kara graduated from Bentley University with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and also earned her MBA from Bentley.  Before starting her own business, Kara was a CPA and Corporate Controller.  Throughout her career she worked with various clients ranging from small start-ups to large multinational corporations.  This diverse experience has equipped her with the skills to handle virtually any financial situation and she is a true asset to the CJL Team.  When not traveling or hiking in the mountains of New Hampshire, Kara spends her time with her husband and 3 children. 

 

SHANNON McHUGH

ProJECT COORDINATOR

Shannon started working at CJL Rentals & Property Management in June 2022 as part of our Property Management team. Her role also includes the handling of vendor insurances, office tasks and managing social media accounts. Prior to CJL, Shannon had 9 years of experience in the customer service industry as well as many years in the restaurant management industry. Her service industry and interpersonal skills are great assets in her role communicating with vendors, tenants and landlords. She is a graduate of Medway High School. In her free time she enjoys playing volleyball, painting pottery and spending time with family and friends. She resides in Medway with her two sisters and dog Willow.

 

DENISE VISCO

Administrative Assistant

Denise has been associated with CJL Rentals & Property Management for the past 18 years in a multitude of roles ranging from personal assistant to office duties. Prior to CJL, Denise worked as an Executive Secretary at an insurance company for 19 years. Denise grew up in the Auburndale section of Newton and currently resides in Waltham. Denise spends her spare time with family and friends, loves the outdoors (bike riding, walking & skiing) and especially the beaches of the Cape!

 

CHERYL CARUSO

Rental Agent

Cheryl has been involved in the local real estate industry since 1984, starting as a Commercial Leasing Agent.  After 10 years in the Commercial real estate world, Cheryl decided to transition her area of interest to Residential real estate beginning in 1994, working aside Carleen at DeWolfe Real Estate.

When Carleen opened her own office, Cheryl joined her the following year as residential rental agent. During these years, Cheryl’s knowledge, experience and exposure to residential rentals has steadily grown.  She actively pursues her own landlord clientele base and loves the personal relationships she has formed with business associates.  She thoroughly enjoys the entire process of residential rental agent from taking pictures right through the lease signing.  Cheryl’s warm personality and honest nature leave all of her clients and tenants appreciating her and her services.

 

JILL SHANLEY

Rental Agent

Jill has been a licensed real estate agent for 20+ years and has a background in real estate sales and mortgage lending. She is also a lifelong resident of Waltham who has raised her family here. Her knowledge of the Waltham community and surrounding areas offers her clients insightful information when assisting them in their housing search, especially tenants new and unfamiliar with the area. Jill’s honest and open approach, along with her responsive and efficient services, enables her clients to make quick and knowledgeable decisions on properties she represents. In her spare time Jill enjoys fly fishing and downhill skiing.

 

JULIA HART

IT & RENTAL AGEnt

Julia joined CJL Rentals & Property Management in May of 2021 in the role of IT and Office Assistant. She graduated from Loyola University Maryland in 2021 with a degree in Computer Science and psychology. In addition to her Loyola degree, she also holds a MA Real Estate Salesperson License. Julia’s position at CJL includes general office assistance along with various administrative duties and all IT-related issues. 

In her free time, Julia enjoys scuba diving, cross fit, and spending time with her friends and family.
